The production process of Chinese alloy aluminum rods.


The aluminum rod production line is roughly divided into melting and casting workshop, mold workshop, extrusion workshop (1)/(2), aging workshop, packaging workshop, finished product warehouse, and aluminum rod warehouse. The company’s general production process: casting workshop→aluminum bar warehouse, extrusion workshop→aging workshop→packing workshop warehouse→finished product warehouse

The following is a key analysis of the melting and casting workshop, extrusion workshop, and aging workshop.


(1) Casting process

The ultimate goal of the melting and casting process is to produce aluminum rods that meet the requirements, and to produce these aluminum rods, it must go through the process:

Melting → casting → saw rod → homogenization of aluminum rod → cooling, washing rod → aluminum rod into the warehouse.

1. Casting workshop

Melting process:

Furnace loading → melting → stirring to complete melting → adding waste → melting → adding waste → complete melting → spreading covering agent and slag breaker → slag removal → stirring → sampling, pre-furnace analysis → adding Al-Si (Sl-Cu, Cr additives) ), Mg ingot → mixing → sampling, post-furnace analysis → composition adjustment → refining → slagging and covering → standing

(2) Extrusion process

Extrusion process:

Pre-press preparation → extrusion → stretching and straightening → sawing finished product → framing and trimming

(3) Aging process

6061-T6 state: Cooled after solution heat treatment to achieve high strength. No cold working

6061-T6511 state: After solution heat treatment, it is cooled to achieve high strength, and then the straightening process is corrected.

6061-T651 state: After solution heat treatment, it is cooled to achieve high strength. Then it is cold drawn by a stretching machine to eliminate the residual internal stress after heat treatment, and it will not deform after further processing to ensure the precision of the machined product.
